Bob Geldof is coming to Birmingham to headline a summer music festival


Irish singer and anti-poverty activist Bob Geldof is coming to Birmingham to perform at a summer festival.
But it isn’t a relaunch of Live Aid - instead the Boomtown Rats front man is headlining at Pairc Festival in Kings Heath over the August Bank Holiday.

Hide AdBob will be singing in the top slot on Sunday, August 25 at the New Irish Centre on Wheeler’s Lane.


With 70s hits including I don’t Like Mondays and Rat Trap, he’s sure to bring a touch of nostalgia to the lively event which attracts global Irish artists to celebrate Irish culture and heritage.
The festival launched at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Digbeth with a performance by Nathan Carter at Luna Springs.
Other acts are due to be announced soon. Last year the festival featured Van Morrison with surprise guest Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones. Other acts included Mary Coughlin, The Waterboys and Mary Black.
