Have you ever wondered who the most popular Birmingham musician or band?

Well, we can reveal all. A new study has looked into the average monthly Spotify listener figures for 1,100 UK-based musicians, and then researched where they’re each from to discover the most popular acts from every area.

According to the study from Jackpotjoy, the most popular bands from the city include Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), who were originally formed in 1970, and Black Sabbath.

ELO were originally formed in 1970 and their music is described as being a mix of pop, rock, electronic and classical arrangements. Rock legends Sabbath, who is fronted by Ozzy Osborne was formed in Birmingham in 1968, also feature in the list, as do the likes of Duran Duran and UB40.
