Sneak peek at new Indian restaurant coming to Park Regis

Did you know that India was named after the Indus River that ran through the Asian sub continent.
The team behind the exciting new restaurant concept at Park Regis are hoping to emanate the love and spirit of the country in their new dining experience set to open in May.

Hide AdBirminghamWorld was given an exciting sneak peek at what is planned for the new venue set to spice up the city’s food scene.
We’ve outlined a few highlights below.
The new restaurant will be situated on the fourth floor of the award-winning venue at Five Ways - next to the stylish bar with an impressive outdoor terrace - where the current 1565 restaurant is situated.
The drinks
Being part of a hotel, the Indus drinks menu will offer an amazing range of cocktails, fine wines and beers.
On our sneak peek visit we got to try out a few special cocktails which are due to be included when the restaurant opens. We enjoyed the original flavours made with quality ingredients.

Hide AdNamaskaran - raspberry vodka, chambord, fresh raspberry puree, fresh lemon juice and gomme syrup
Jungle Mangal - orange juice, pineapple juice, fresh cream and grenadine (non-alcoholic)
Indus Ice Tea - Grey Goose, Cointreau, Tequila, Bombay Sapphire and Bacardi, fresh lemon juice, topped with Champagne (drink this very slowly!)
The food
Prepare for an explosion of flavours at Indus. Both sweet and savoury dishes were superb.

Hide AdIt’s no surprise to hear that Head Chef Manish Patel has experience of working in five star hotels in India.
The main meals and starters were spiced to perfection with tender meats and juicy sauces smothering plates of food created with skill and devotion.
The menu is set to feature dishes including:
Awadhi Methi Murg Malai - tandoori chicken slowly cooked in a rich creamy, fenugreek tomato and onion gravy/
Indus Haddi Wala Ghost - Mutton on the bone slowly cooked in a rich almond, onion and aromatic spices

Hide AdKake De Chana Masala - slowly cooked chickpeas masala, inspired from the streets of Amritsar
Sabj-e-Chilman Biryani - vegetable cooked in aromatic spices and yoghurt layers with basmati rice
And for dessert, look out for:
Carrot Fudge with vanilla ice cream - slowly cooked carrot with dry fruits, full fat milk, served with vanilla ice cream
Gulab Jamun - deep fried dough balls, coated with rose flavour sugar syrup, served with vanilla ice cream
