Two major Eid celebrations - at Small Heath Park and Edgbaston Stadium - were cancelled but there are still loads of large celebrations across Birmingham

After a month of fasting, the Muslim community in Birmingham will come together to celebrated Eid ul Fitr - the dates for which was declared yesterday.

While one of the large mosques - Green Lane Masjid - is celebrating it today (April 21 ) another one, Birmingham Central Mosque, will observe it tomorrow (April 22). Two of the major celebrations - at Small Heath Park and Edgbaston Stadium - were cancelled due to the rainy weather but there are still loads of large celebrations across Birmingham.

From music events to Eid ul Fitr celebrations at different mosques in Birmingham - people will be able to celebrate together and come together as a community.

Here are some of the Eid ul Fitr celebrations in Birmingham:

1. Eid at Sutton Coldfield Muslim Association and Mosque - April 21

Sutton Coldfield mosque announced that Eid Al-Fitr will be on Friday 21st April. However, due to unfavourable weather conditions Eid prayers will now take place at the mosque.

2. Eid ul Fitr at Birmingham Central Mosque - April 22

Birmingham Central Mosque in Balsall Heath will observe Eid ul Fitr tomorrow and the 30th day of Ramadan will be observed today.

Run by the Birmingham Mosque Trust - this religious institution has been open since 1970. It is classified as nonsectarian and has a capacity for 6,000 people, including women.

3. Eid ul Fitr at Makki Masjid - Handsworth - April 22

Eid will be celebrated on April 22 at the Makki Masjid, which is a sectarian mosque. Most of those who attend this mosque are from the Deobandi faith of Islam.

4. Eid at Jami Masjid - Small Heath - April 21

Eid will be celebrated at the Jami Masjid on Friday 21 April. The two-hall mosque, with a capacity of 2,000, is located on Coventry Road.
