Peaky Blinders is coming back

A new series of Birmingham inspired Peaky Blinders will air in the spring of next year. Show creator Steven Knight revealed the good news at the BFI London Film Festival on Thursday.

He also said that his next project will be a feature film set in and around Birmingham.

A career criminal who was wanted for a string of violent offences has been jailed following a police pursuit.

Thomas Cahill was wanted over a number of offences including an incident where, a 78-year-old woman  suffered a broken hip after being dragged to the ground as he snatched her bag in Harborne.

At Birmingham Crown Court, Cahill, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to five burglaries, three robberies an attempted robbery and aggravated vehicle taking. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
