It’s been a weekend of celebration - and a few anti Royal protests - as we all got an extra day off for King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Coronation.

There are many who love the Royal Family - but not everyone is a fan, with the protests arrests in London highlighting different viewpoints across the nation.

But what do the people of Birmingham make of the Royal Family? And who is their favourite Royal following the coronation? Here’s what we were told as we met with people on the first offial day back to work today (Tuesday, May 9).

Dee says: “I don’t have a favourite royal because I’m not one of those people who support the royal family. The queen was fine - love the colours. The queen, she was alright, but I think if I can say, frankly, they’re dark. They got loads of hidden secrets - loads.

“Terrible, terrible. And what they did to Dianna was atrocious. And as for Camilla and Charles getting married at the weekend.

“Well - Camilla, she’s been in there in his life forever. I mean, it’s disgraceful. Really. I mean, how could she really? And now that it’s all gone all meek and mild and they’re all for the public and they want to be transparent. Is that the word - transparent? Yeah, right!

“Well, no, they’re not transparent. Not at all. And all that hoo-har with Meghan? Well she should have known what she was getting into.”

Callum says: “I’m a big fan of what Charles has done recently. Only because Prince Andrew has somewhat of a dodgy past, for whatever reason, and a lot of people are under the belief that he shouldn’t be getting support or funding from the Royals.

“Who am I to tell a family how to spend their money? That’s down to them. But even if he doesn’t do anything else, he has done something that will be looked upon positively by a good community of people, I think regarding that.

“So he’s made a very physical change. The queen as well. This is my second monarch. This is my second person ruling and whether she - I don’t know how much the royal family have in regards to change to the country - but they have been their ruling as many positive things have happened.

“Now if I’m gonna give them praise for positive I need to scathe them for negative and things like that. But I think as a society, we have increased and improved as time has gone on.

“We have become more multicultural, which I do believe is good as long as it’s helped integrate in a positive way and doesn’t remove culture that already exists.”

David says: “It’s got to be King Charles. Just watching the coronation. He went up in my estimation. Oh so much”
