Five richest under 35s in the UK went to this West Midlands school

The 35 Under 35 Rich List is topped by the Duke of Westminster in 2023 - and there are seven from West Midlands who made it into the list as well

The latest edition of The Sunday Times 35 under 35 Rich List in 2023 includes some of the young and wealthy from across the country like Harry Kane, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa and the Duke of Westminster.

The 35 Under 35 Rich List is topped by the Duke of Westminster in 2023 - who inherited his title and a vast land and property portfolio when he was 25 – including 300 acres of Mayfair and Belgravia.

Among those 35 young and wealthy in the list, five went to the same West Midlands school.

Gymshark co-founder Ben Francis is the richest among the five who went to South Bromsgrove High School with a net worth close to a billion pounds.

Lewis Morgan, Gymshark co-founder- who has since sold his stake, Reiss and Kris Edgerton, co-founders of athleisure brand Aybl, and Reece Wabara - founder of Manière de Voir, also went to South Bromsgrove High School.

Francis, 30, is worth £900mn; Morgan is worth £160m; the Edgerton brothers - Reiss and Kris, aged 30 and 28, are worth £60mn, and Wabara, 31, is worth £83 mn. Morgan has invested in Aybl and Manière de Voir.

These South Bromsgrove High School alumni are not the only people from the West Midlands to be included in The Sunday Times 35 under 35 Rich List.

It also includes Timothy Goodwin, who is worth £163m. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, Goodwin, 33, is chairman of the engineering company Goodwin Plc - that was set up by his family 140 years ago. The business employs more than 1,100 people.

Redditch-born 29-year-old Harry Styles - a mega popstar of this age - is the 13th richest among the under 35s in the UK. His net worth is £150m after his third studio album - Harry’s House - became the UK’s biggest-selling record of 2022. It won album of the year at the Grammys and British album of the year at the Brits.

He is on his Love on Tour— during which he will perform at nearly 170 shows. He also has a five-movie deal with Marvel to play Eros.
