Star comedian Peter Kay is performing at Utilita Arena in Birmingham tomorrow (Friday, July 28).

The hilarious stand up comedian, aged 50 - who had taken a break from performing - is back in full swing after announcing his first tour in 12 years in 2022.

Peter said: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”

Friday night will be his third show in Birmingham so far this year (2023) - with previous performances in April and June - and has two more upcoming on August 29 and October 6, in addition to more dates in 2024 and 2025.

The previous two shows in Birmingham were well received with many fans taking to Twitter to share their experience, without any spoilers.

People who attended previous shows also added that they liked the special guest appearance. However, no support acts have been publicised for Peter Kay shows.

Peter’s Friday night show - Better Late Than Never - in Birmingham has sold out and so has the October 6 show despite him adding extra dates thanks to the massive demand from his fans. After his latest visit to Birmingham his next stop will be at The O2 arena in London on Saturday (29 July) where he the first artist ever to hold a monthly residency - performing a show at the venue every month until April 2025.

Door opening times for Peter Kay at Birmingham Utilita Arena

There are several times you need to be aware of if you are planning on seeing Peter Kay at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena. Here’s the list, but please note that the Utilita website states these timings are approximate and subject to change.

Doors open at 6.30pm but the bars and catering open at 6pm. Kay’s performance begins at 8pm and the interval will be at 8.45pm. The second half would begin at 9.10pm.

When will Peter Kay’s show finish at Birmingham Utilita Arena?

Peter Kay is expected to end the show at 10.15pm but since the timings are subject to change, he could finish sooner or later.

Where to park for Utilita Arena

Utilita Arena Birmingham has on-site public car park spaces across their car parks: North, South and West. The West car park is for pre-booked and Hospitality customers only.

South and West Car Parks are serviced by lifts to each floor. Customers who have mobility needs should park on any odd level of the car park as the lifts will give access to our accessible entrances. South Car Park (off Sheepcote Street) - Level 11 has blue badge parking bays and also gives direct access to Utilita Arena Birmingham accessible Entrance – Entrance D.

West Car Park (off St Vincent’s Street) is open on event days only for pre-booked spaces. Some blue badge parking bays are located on Level 8 (the first level you drive into). This will give you access to our accessible entrance – Entrance C. North car park has no lift facility, all accessible spaces are located on level 9, close to the dedicated accessible entrance – Entrance G. It is advised to book your parking in advance for specific events, however you can pay at any time before exiting the car parks via the payment kiosks, which take both cash and card, or via mobile.

Are trains, trams and buses running on Friday (July 28)?

There are no planned disruptions like strike action on trains and buses tomorrow (July 28) in Birmingham. Utilita Arena is just a short walk from Birmingham New Street, Moor Street, Snow Hill and Five Ways train stations. It is also a short walk to bus stops across the city centre and there is a bus stop located close to Utilita Arena which is served by the 126 bus service.

If you are taking the metro, Brindley Plan and Library are the nearest metro stops located a short walk from Utilita Arena Birmingham. On Monday to Saturday, there are trams:

  • every 15 minutes between 4.45am and 7am
  • every 6 to 8 minutes during the day
  • every 15 minutes between 7pm and 0.45am
