Thousands join the celebrations as the annual Birmingham Pride Parade makes its way through Birmingham city centre

It’s the 25th time the massive celebration of equality, diversity and inclusivity has taken to the streets of Birmingham.

And the Birmingham Pride Parade certainly stopped the traffic with its wonderful array of colour and camaraderie as it made its way through the city centre today (Saturday, September 24).

Good vibes emanated from the rainbow of celebrants who paraded from Centenary Square to Hurst Street, via Carrs Lane and Smallbrook Queensway. Tens of thousands lined the streets to cheer the parade, which was led by a dance group for the first time ever.

The is called MOBILISE and included Ginny Lemon from RuPaul’s Drag Race and Mama Mamba. It was set up by renowned Birmingham performer Fatt Butcher.

There’s so much to celebrate at Birmingham Pride as it marks its quarter of a century - and it’s on all weekend.
