Birmingham Music Awards 2022: Full list of all the winners with Lady Leshurr & more
and live on Freeview channel 276
The stars aligned at The Mill on Wednesday night (September 21) as the Digbeth venue staged the Birmingham Music Awards’ glittering annual ceremony. Hosted by Natalie Graham and Henry Liston of BBC WM, the action barely let up from the Champagne reception to an unofficial after-party at Nortons bar which went on to the early hours.
Organisers Jo Jeffries and Simon Pitt pulled out all the stops to make the event a truly memorable one with a host of stunning live performances from the likes of Abz Winter, White Lakes, The Assist, RTKAL, The Novus, Rozzzqween, Bambi Bains and Sipho showcasing the abundance of talent in the local music scene.

Hide AdDouble winners included The Assist who won the best album award for Council Pop and best song for Better Days, and Gavin Monaghan, who was named best producer while his Magic Garden claimed the best studio prize. Lady Leshurr also doubled up, winning Best Female and Brum Bastion.
The awards aim to unite the city but divided at least one family when Jonny Amos of BIMM pipped his wife Meldra Guza to the best mentor award, and there was a poignant moment when local broadcasting legend Robin Valk was posthumously and deservedly honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award.
