With Comic Con on the way, people across the country will be gearing up in their power armour for another weekend of nerdy fun. Unfortunately, you can’t be beamed up by Scotty to the NEC - so what are the best ways of getting there?

Thankfully, the NEC has no shortage of useful transport links to help you get there with your Zelda cosplay intact.

Whether you’re travelling by bus, train or car, we will be detailing the most effective ways to reach the venue as well as where to park.

The NEC has its own car parks, which you can book a space in for a day, two days or for the duration of the weekend. While some are sold out, the NEC standard car park still has room for bookings.

Meanwhile, if you’re coming by train, Birmingham has two train stations that you can reach the event from. Birmingham International Train Station is just a short walk away, while you’ll need to catch a connecting train, bus or taxi from Birmingham New Street.

You can book a car parking space with NEC on the NEC website. To park up for a single day in NEC standard car park, it will cost you £12.85. Two days will cost £25.70, while parking up for the full three-day duration of the event is priced at £38.55.

If you’re travelling to Comic Con by train, your best bet is to book a ticket to Birmingham International Train Station and it is approximately a 20 minute walk away, according to Google Maps.

As Birmingham International Train Station doesn’t have extensive transport links outside of Birmingham, you may need to catch a train to Birmingham New Street.

From here, you can either catch a train to Birmingham International, take the bus or get a taxi. By car, the journey will take you around 21 minutes.

There is also a bus stop outside of Birmingham International Train Station. It’s the nearest bus stop to the NEC - so if you’re planning on travelling to the event by bus, this will be your  best option.
