Everything Everything, The Horrors and Opus Kink among acts added to Bearded Theory line-up
Everything Everything, The Horrors and Opus Kink are among a host of new names which have been added to this year’s Bearded Theory festival.
Bearded Theory returns to the region in May and organisers have announced the event’s full line-up.

The new names join previously revealed headliners Garbage, Pixies and Skunk Anansie and dozens of other acts.
The multi-award winning independent festival takes place in Catton Park, Derbyshire, from Wednesday, May 20 to Sunday, May 24, nestled at the meeting point of the West Midlands, South Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Other new acts which have been added to the line-up include Scottish outfit The Twilight Sad, acid-house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald, counter-culture figurehead and author Irvine Welsh, underground legend Jon Spencer and psychedelic prog veterans Ozric Tentacles.
Also joining the lineup are buzzy indie-pop trio Swim School, American indie rock artist Sir Chloe, afro-psychedelic future poppers BCUC, alongside The Leisure Society, Tankus, Rianne Downey, Better Joy, Basht., Black Water County, DIY Soundsystem, The Beatles Dub Club and many more.
Additionally, Beans on Toast’s annual Foolhardy Takeover of the Woodland stage will return with the artist curating a hand-picked selection of acts.
Names joining previously announced comedian Stewart Lee and Beans on Toast include Katacombs, K.O.G Soundsystem, Mr Bruce, Nuala & Tankus.
Bearded Theory is set across eight stages and areas. While the Pallet and Meadow stages will deliver the biggest moments of the weekend, the Woodland stage will offer an intimate escape of unplugged sessions and raucous singalongs.
Other musical highlights of this year’s line-up include CMAT, The Damned, Kae Tempest, Fat Dog, Big Special, Kate Nash, Getdown Services, Lambrini Girls, Peter Hook and the Light, Adult DVD, Gans, Heartworms, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Molotovs and The Wedding Present.
This year, The Junkyard will offer new boutique silver trailers for festival goers, complete with all the modern comforts you’d expect including plush beds and private showers.
Dedicated wellness and crafting sector EARTH also promises a sanctuary of serenity and creativity with activities from pottery and painting to basket weaving and immersive workshops.
The Sauna Box – a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge experience – will give festival-goers a chance to find a moment of inner peace amidst the festival chaos.
For those who wish to rave into the early hours, Big Ed and CODA will return as the home for all things dance-oriented.
Also returning to the festival is The Knockerdown - by day, an arts and Q&A hub and by night, a raucous karaoke hotspot.
Elsewhere, Convoy Cabaret, Maui Waui and Something Else Tea Tent will provide a huge array of weird and wonderful, peaceful and powerful alternatives with a world of underground talent.
The Festival School will return to the award-winning Children’s Area, with free places, a full curriculum and lessons ranging from maths to mindfulness and DJ workshops.
For the first time, the Festival School will offer a pre-school provision for 100 0-4 year-olds as well as the standard school for 200 Reception to Year 10 children.
