Here are 17 shows coming to Birmingham that must not be missed:
1. The Rocky Horror Show - The Alexandra
Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical celebrates 50 years with this special anniversary production. It includes music, dance, a creepy mansion, and of course, the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter. The show features timeless classics including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and of course, the show stopping Time Warp. Dates:March 27 - April 1.
2. Annie - The Alexandra
The hit production of Annie from London’s West End is coming to Birmingham for Easter 2023. This stars Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Dates: Mon 3 Apr - Sat 15 Apr.
3. Of Mice & Men - The Rep
John Steinbeck’s classic novel may be more than 80 years old, but with themes of economic migration, racism and prejudice, it remains a parable for our times. This new production from Rep Associate Director and Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony Director, Iqbal Khan, focuses a 2023 lens on Steinbeck’s affecting tale of the crumbling American dream. Dates: Tue 28 Mar–Sat 8 Apr.
4. Our Girls, Our Game - Birmingham Hippodrome
This story follows the successes and challenges of the girls from Preston’s Dick, Kerr munitions factory, who created a football team, raised huge amounts of money for the war effort and took part in, and won, the first women’s international fixture. Dates: 14 Apr – 15 Apr.
