Mr Egg & other Birmingham landmark artworks you can see at Grand Central

From Snobs to Gas Street Basin, the artworks by local artist Stacey Barnfield are raising much needed funds for Sifa Fireside homlessness charity in Birmingham

An area of the mall at Grand Central has been transformed with artwork created by local artist, Stacey Barnfield. Iconic locations and landmarks such as Mr Egg, The Custard Factory and the old Snobs venue are celebrated in the Draw My City watercolour artworks designed by Stacey.

The artworks, which have been installed on hoardings in the Grand Central mall, are available to buy from drawmycity.co.uk where £3 from every order will be donated to Sifa Fireside homelessness charity in Birmingham. You could pop in and have a look while visiting the 100 free events around the Bullring for Birmingham Weekender over the August Bank Holiday.

Stacey’s hugely popular artwork, The Birmingham Colour Palette, as well as a bespoke Bullring & Grand Central Palette, sits alongside the new pieces having been installed at the centre during 2021.

Danielle Bozward, Marketing Manager at Bullring & Grand Central, commented: “We’re so pleased to be working with Stacey again here at Bullring & Grand Central. The Birmingham Colour Palette is extremely popular with our visitors and I’m sure that his new watercolour landmarks pieces will be too. The Draw My City sketches capture the essence of Birmingham and will certainly bring back some great memories for our local community!”

Stacey Barnfield added: “When I began sharing my Birmingham drawings through social media during lockdown two years ago I never imagined it would take off in such a way and that they might be on display like this. I love seeing the Draw My City sketches and Colour Palette designs super-sized and all lit up at Grand Central and if the artworks give visitors to Birmingham an introduction to Birmingham’s famous landmarks or quirky locations, that’s great!

“All Draw My City artworks continue to help the work of SIFA Fireside in Digbeth with a donation to the charity from every order. We’ve raised more than £5,000 so far, which is incredible. Thank you so much to everyone who has bought a print or greetings card.”
