There’s an adorable new cub calling the West Midlands home.
An adorable baby red panda has been welcomed at West Midlands Safari Park.
It is the fourth red panda cub to be born at the Park in four years.
Red pandas Mei Lin and Sanka welcomed the new cub in June.
West Midlands Safari Park released some adorable photos of the new cub which was born on Sunday, June 21.

The new cub hasn’t got a name yet.

Though as per West Midlands Safari Park 2026 naming convention, the new cub’s name is expected to start with the letter ‘O’.
Red pandas are considered to be an endangered species, there are fewer than 10,000 left in the wild.
Vicky McFarlane, head keeper at West Midlands Safari Park said: “Following last year’s red panda cubs, Nadiya and Nikisha, leaving for their new homes just a few short weeks ago, we are overjoyed to announce that Mei Lin has given birth to another beautiful red panda cub! Guests in the Red Panda Cottages were the first to get a sneak peek at the new arrival, as Mei-Lin moved the cub early in the morning of 21 June, following its birth a few days before.
“Mei Lin is an experienced mum, having had three cubs previously and she knows exactly what to do, so keepers leave her undisturbed to do what she does best. So, the cub will stay in the nest box, growing bigger every day for the next few months, under the careful supervision of mum.”
