There’s plenty of live music and entertainment to keep you busy across the city’s venues and theatres, including incredible George Michael and The Doors tribute acts.

And of course, this will be the first weekend of the Birmingham German Christmas Market 2021.

Uromi live at the Sunflower Lounge - Saturday

Multi-instrumental songwriter and producer Uromi will be playing a headline show at the Sunflower Lounge on Saturday. The Birmingham born performer’s music blends his influences with his varied experience as a session musician across different genres, spanning gospel, indie rock, hip hop and jazz.

He will be supported by songwriters Stella and Ali Gilbert.

The Strange Doors (UK Doors tribute) Live at The Night Owl - Saturday

Head down to the The Night Owl on Saturday evening for the ultimate Jim Morrison and Doors experience.

Returning to the venue by popular demand, the Strange Doors is a tribute band that takes you back in time by recreating the sights and sounds of the LA legends.

The gig takes place from 8pm til 11pm.

Amplify Sounds 1st Birthday at Birmingham Hippodrome - Saturday

Amplify Sounds is a live music platform that turns the volume up on incredible artists, showcasing the best talent from the Midlands and UK.

And the live music project celebrates its 1st birthday with a huge party at the Hippodrome this Saturday, with performances from DEJA, Molly, Casey Bailey, Nakeeta, Sophielou and Cloudzzz.

Square Eyes: Line of Duty and Q&A at the MAC - Friday

BBC police series Line Of Duty has been extremeley popular and hit record viewing figures during its recent sixth series. The shows creator Jed Mercurio grew up in Staffordshire and its executive producer Simon Heath was born and bred in Birmingham.

And the Midlands’ very first TV festival will lauch at the MAC on Friday with a special night celebrating the hit show.

Jed and Simon will be talking about the genesis of the show, its divisive ending and its possible future in between clips, and there will also be a Q&A.

The event starts at 8pm.

Grease live at The Alexandra - Saturday

The world’s best-loved musical is currently being performed at the Alexandra.

The show is bursting with hits including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want, and this new version features a fresh young cast which also features Peter Andre as Teen Angel and Vince Fontain.

Fastlove - A Tribute to George Michael at The Alexandra - Sunday

Direct from London’s West End, the world’s favourite George Michael celebration comes to Birmingham this Sunday.

The Fastlove show has now toured in 18 countries, selling over 250,000 tickets worldwide.

The talented cast will recreate George Michael’s old classics, playing all the hits, from Wham right through his solo career, including Wake Me Up, Too Funky, Father Figure, Freedom 90.

Venus Grrrls live at The Victoria - Sunday

Venus Grrrls are an all girl rock band from Leeds, with the aim of promoting the participation and respect of women in the music industry.

The five-piece aim to bring ‘fortitude and activism’ through hard hitting alternative rock music, which they will be taking to the stage at The Victoria this Sunday as part of their UK tour.

Steps at Resorts World Arena - Friday and Saturday

The Steps live UK tour lands in the Midlands this weekend, with the dance group bringing all their hits to the Resorts World Arena.

The show will also feature special guest songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Birmingham German Christmas Market 2021

Excitement is building with the wait almost over as Birmingham’s German Christmas Market returns to New Street and Victoria Square this week for the first time since 2019.

The much-loved market opens tomorrow, November 4, and will run everyday until December 23.
