A new year means a host of new bars and restaurants coming to Birmingham, and this list of openings has got us pretty excited for the next 12 months.

2022 is already an exciting year for the city with the Commonwealth Games, so it’s only natural that we welcome new places to wine and dine.

Whether you’re looking to grab a quick drink after work, or heading for a night out with friends, these new stylish bars will be ready and waiting to provide you with a perfect tipple or two.

From date night spots to quirky bars with an alternative twist, here are eight new venues set to open their doors in the city this year.

London Cocktail Club

Temple Street is rumoured to be gaining a new venue in the coming months that we simply can’t wait for.

The trendy London Cocktail Club is supposedly heading to Temple Street, which is already home to some of the city’s most popular bars including Flight Club and The Head of Steam.

Having already found success in the capital, London Cocktail Club is well known for its quirky signature tipples, including an egg and bacon martini!

The Birmingham bar will be 15th to open, joining its sister venues in London, Exeter and Bristol.

D&D at 103 Colmore Row

There’s been a lot of talk about the luxury bar and restaurant that’s opening in 103 Colmore Row.

Run by D&D London, which also runs a string of luxury bars and restaurants, the Birmingham venue will provide gorgeous views of the city, all of which can be enjoyed with a signature cocktail or a crisp glass of wine.

Gin & Juice

Gin & Juice is one of the most exciting venues to be added to our list of openings for the year.

An Instagrammer and gin-lovers delight, Gin & Juice is well known for its flamboyant drinks which take your typical G&T to the next level.

A quick browse on the bar’s Instagram will show you drinks topped with candyfloss and candyfloss accompanied with mouthwatering food - what more could you ask for?

Shibuya Underground

If you’re a fan of The Pineapple Club, then you’re going to love this!

Brought to you by Samuel Boulton, founder of The Pineapple Club in Great Western Arcade, this brand new venture will celebrate Japanese culture with a tasting menu of specially designed cocktails.

This eight-seater bar will also be opening in Great Western Arcade, offering you a drinking experience like never before.

As well as D&D London opening up in 103 Colmore Row, The Sky Lounge will also be opening its doors to diners and drinkers alike at 100 Broad Street.

With floor to ceiling windows offering spectacular views of the city, the bar and restaurant will be spread across two floors, with the rest of the building featuring luxury apartments, a cinema, gym and more.

Calling all wine-lovers, Vinoteca is coming to Paradise this year, and you must pay it a visit.

After opening its doors in London back in 2005, Vinoteca has blossomed into a beautiful chain of bars, shops and restaurants that offer award-winning wines for adventurous drinkers.

The venue will also offer delicious food which can be expertly paired with one of the restaurant’s wide choice of wines.

Set to open its doors in the coming months, Vinoteca will join other popular nightlife spots including Albert’s Schloss and Dishoom.

If you’re looking for more than just your average bar, then Sixes will be right up your street - especially if you’re a cricket fan.

This brand spanking new addition is opening in the Mailbox in just a few weeks time, and it’s perfect if you want to combine a couple of drinks with a fun night out.

Grab your friends as you test your sporting skills with Sixes cricket nets or have a go at the venue’s state-of-the-art VR cricket experience, the choice is yours!

There will also be plenty of tables too, so if you don’t fancy playing, you can kick back and grab a drink and a bite to eat.

Otherworld

Speaking of alternative bars, Birmingham’s getting a brand new VR experience that’s taking over the former home of Nocturnal Animals on Bennetts Hill.

Otherworld has already been a huge hit in London with many people heading along to try out its incredible virtual reality games, but it also does some seriously good drinks too.

So if VR gaming just isn’t for you, you can still pop to the bar where the drinks are supposedly out of this world!
