Plans reportedly include the addition of new long-haul flights to destinations like Toronto, New York, Mumbai, and Hong Kong.
A direct route from Birmingham to New York was previously operated by United Airlines until its suspension in 2017.
As part of a £300 million redevelopment, new security scanners were installed earlier this year.

This extensive renovation aligns with Birmingham Airport’s ambition to achieve net-zero carbon status by 2033.
Thus far, £9.7 million has been allocated to an on-site solar farm housing 12,000 panels.
Additionally, the airport introduced Chaiiwala, a new street food restaurant, earlier this year as part of its passenger experience enhancements.
Another restaurant is set to open in December.
