Road closures: eight for Birmingham drivers over the next fortnight (October 7 - 21) - full list


And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

Hide Ad•M6, from 9pm August 3 to 6am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
•A4097, from 9pm August 14 to 6am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 5 to junction 3, carriageway, slip road, link road and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
•A446, from 6am February 12 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 5 to junction 8, carriageway, slip road, link road and lane closures due to technology works, diversion via National Highways network.
•M6, from 9pm September 18 2019 to 6am December 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 6 BC link road, 24 hour hatched area for bridge repairs.

Hide Ad•M6, from 6am January 12 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Hard shoulder closures with 50mph speed restriction for maintenance works.


And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:
•A38(M), from 9pm October 7 to 6am October 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38M northbound, Out Of City to M6, junction 6, carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
•A38(M), from 9pm October 9 to 6am October 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38M southbound, Gravelly Hill to Aston Expressway, carriageway closure and lane closures for drainage works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.

Hide Ad•M5, from 9pm October 15 to 6am October 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closure for maintenance works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
