Passengers were stuck in long queues outside Birmingham Airport once again this morning

Holidaymakers have described the queues at Birmingham Airport on Tuesday morning (June 11) as ‘chaos’.

The airport has been struggling to deal with the rise in demand over recent weeks as people fly away to enjoy the warmer weather this summer.

People once again posted photos on X/Twitter this morning showing lengthy queues spreading well outside the airport entrance.

One person wrote: “Absolute chaos at @bhx_official. Queues stretching the length of the building with up to two hour waits in the freezing cold How on earth can this be justified by the leaders of Birmingham airport.”

Another described the airport as ‘rammed’ while another described ‘four hour queuing outside in the rain.’ You can see some of the photos from this morning below.

The airport has recently said that passengers not following the 100ml liquids rule may add 20 minutes to their security check. The airport claims that even one non-compliant bag can add up to 20 minutes per person in the security line, impacting everyone's travel experience.
