This round is extra meaningful for the lower clubs in England’s football pyramid, as in the third round the teams that play in the Premier League and Championship enter the competition, and the thought of a big away day at one of the Premier League’s big boys, and a windfall, is what the lower clubs dream of.

Last season, Leicester beat Chelsea in the final 1-0, courtesy of a Youri Tielemans world-class finish, in a match that saw fans return to a stadium, albeit dramatically reduced.

Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Brom and non-league Kidderminster Harriers will all be flying the flag for the West Midlands in the draw tonight.

Kidderminster will be on the look out for a big draw against a football league side having reached the third round for the first time in eight years.

No team from the region has reached the FA Cup final since 2015 when Aston Villa were defeated by Arsenal.

The last side from Birmingham to win the FA Cup was West Brom way back in 1968.
