Forget Troy Parrott: Wolves can target lethal Champions League striker transfer in January instead
Wolves have the chance to delve into the transfer market when the January window is open for business
Wolves have recently turned to Rob Edwards as their new head coach. He was picked as their replacement for Vitor Pereira, who was sacked after a poor run of form. Edwards, 42, left his position as manager of Middlesbrough in the Championship to take on a new challenge in the Premier League.

The former Watford and Luton Town man has inherited a side who are sat bottom of the table. They are winless in their first 12 fixtures and are in the drop zone with Leeds United and Burnley. Crystal Palace beat them 2-0 at Molineux last time out.
Wolves linked with Troy Parrott transfer swoop ahead of January
According to talkSPORT, Wolves are interested in AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott ahead of the January transfer window. Leeds have also been mentioned as a potential suitor in the forward this winter. He has made headlines recently after a bout of goals for Republic of Ireland.
Parrott, 23, has been a key player for AZ since joining them in 2024 and they could face a battle to keep hold of him now amid expected attention from elsewhere. He has scored 34 goals in 62 games for the Eredivisie outfit. The Dublin-born man is under contract in Holland until June 2029.
He was on the books at Tottenham Hotspur from 2017 up until last year and featured on four occasions for their first-team as a youngster. Spurs loaned him out to the likes of Millwall, Ipswich Town, MK Dons, Preston North End and Excelsior to get some experience under his belt. He was then given the green light to head out the exit door on a permanent basis and he has since caught the eye overseas.
Wolves should target Troy Parrott alternative option instead this winter
Wolves should steer clear of Parrott for the time being and target someone else instead. Royale Union Saint-Gilloise ace Promise David has proved to be a real handful in the Belgian Pro League and would be worth a gamble. The Canada international, who has eight caps to his name, will want to show what he can do ahead of the World Cup next summer.
David has fired 34 goals in 62 matches for Union SG since his transfer there and his pace and power has proved to cause serious problems to opposition defenders over recent times. At the age of 24 still, he has potential to grow and develop further down the line. He has burst out of nowhere following spells in Malta and Estonia and is a hidden gem in Europe.
If he joined Wolves, he would give them something different to call upon at the top end of the pitch. He has proved that he knows where the back of the net is over in Belgium and appears ready to test himself in a tougher division. If Edwards’ side are to drop into the Championship, they would have a player at their disposal who would have the capacity to be prolific at second tier level.
