The contract clauses inserted into Wolves transfer deals - according to Football Manager 2024: gallery

Ever wondered how some transfer deals are structured? Football Manager 2024 attempts to give us an insight into the workings of Wolves transfer dealings.

Wolves summer transfer business was hectic as players came and went from Molineux.

Most of the summer was spent with Julen Lopetegui in charge and then on the eve of the season he left and Gary O'Neil replaced him. Lopetegui watched on as Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Nathan Collins and Conor Coady were sold for transfer fees whilst Wolves were limited as to what they could do. It wasn't until O'Neil came in and talk of Matheus Nunes was being sold to Man City that business picked up. Nunes headed to the Etihad and then we saw Santiago Bueno, Enszo Gonzalez and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde all join for transfer fees with Tommy Doyle also joining on loan.

Financial Fair Play is a big reason why Wolves had to be patient this summer but so far their business looks to have been good. The recent win over AFC Bournemouth has put them 12th in the Premier League standings and seven points above the drop. Do you ever wonder however how some transfers are paid for and structured? The latest edition of Football Manager - produced by Sports Interactive - attempts to do just what and paint a picture of the real-life world.

When you load up the game and choose your specific team, you can explore all kinds of things and there is a ‘clauses’ section on the transfers tab, which throws up some interesting information. It provides a list of players that will include things such as sell-on-fees, as well as meeting certain targets and outstanding transfer payments. We must stress that this is according to the game and the inner workings of the deals might be different.

Here, strictly according to FM24, are the current clauses put into the deals of players currently on the books of Wolves - as well as those who have left. *FM24’s clauses may not be fully representational of the real-life situation. Flick through to see all the players and their respective deals.
