Wolves have the chance to bolster their ranks over the next 24 hours or so. They also have the opportunity to let some players leave.

Matheus Cunha latest

Wolves are desperate to keep hold of Cunha until the summer at least. He has been linked with an exit this winter.

In this latest update, he has penned a new contract at Molineux until 2029. Sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “The new contract is a reward for what Matheus has done, and symbolises his importance to us on the pitch. It is something that he's earned because of everything he’s given us and will continue to give us.

“Matheus loves the club, loves the fans and really appreciates the opportunity the club has given him. The fans have taken him under their wing, and he’s loved being here, so it's been a really positive experience for both sides.

“His talent is undeniable and he’s a real winner. He wants us to achieve our goals now, and when a player of his quality shows he's with you and up for the fight, it’s a big lift for everyone. Now he has to do what he’s been doing, and even more. I expect him to knuckle down through the second half of season, because we need everyone at it.”

Wolves move for Kevin Danso hijacked

Wolves have seen a move for Lens defender Kevin Danso hijacked by Tottenham Hotspur. They will now have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.

Danso, 26, could have been seen as someone to strengthen their backline. He has played 125 matches for Lens since joining them in 2021.

The Austria international had spells at Reading and MK Dons as a youngster before linking up with Augsburg. He broke into the first-team of the latter before heading back to England when Southampton came calling in 2019 on a loan deal.

He went on to play 10 games for the Saints, six of which came in the league. The Voitsberg-born man then had a similar temporary stint at Fortuna Dusseldorf before signing for Lens.

Wolves-linked Kelechi Iheanacho latest

Wolves have been linked with Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho over recent times. The Northern Echo claim Middlesbrough are now pushing to sign him instead.

Iheanacho, 28, has made 57 caps for the Nigeria national team so far in his career. He moved to Spain last summer but has struggled to find form in La Liga.

He has had spells in the past at Manchester City and Leicester City. The forward scored 61 goals in 232 matches for the latter in all competitions before heading out the exit door but he is now set for a return to England at the Riverside Stadium until the guidance of Michael Carrick.
