The latest injury news from Wolves and opponents Tottenham

Wolverhampton Wanderers took another huge stride towards securing Premier League safety and left Ipswich Town on the brink of relegation after coming from behind to earn a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Portman Road.

The Old Gold, who were nine points clear of the Tractor Boys heading into the contest, suffered a late scare after just 16 minutes when the in-form Liam Delap gave the home side the lead with his 12th goal of the campaign.

It gave the hosts something to build on as they went into half time with the advantage before a rejuvenated Wolves team courtesy of an inspired performance from Pablo Sarabia went on to win the game.

Sarabia, who has struggled for regular football, scored just his second of the season in the 72nd minute before also doubling his assist tally for the campaign by setting up Jogen Strand Larsen’s 84th minute winner. Wolves now need a maximum of 12 points to mathematically secure their top-flight status and can now begin to think about climbing the table as they take on a Spurs team sitting 14th in the league.

The Lillywhites have won just two of their last six league matches despite welcoming back a whole host of first team stars from injury but still have a fair few missing stars for their upcoming clash in the West Midlands. With that in mind, we round up the latest injury news from both teams, with a total of six expected to miss out.

Wolves injury news

Yerson Mosquera, who is recovering from a long-term injury layoff, has signed a new five-year contract at the club, and is now targeting a return to training in pre-season. He’s been limited to just five league matches this term. Striker Leon Chiwone, who made three appearances last season is also unlikely to play again this term after suffering a serious ACL injury back in January.

Young winger Enso González also faces a lengthy spell in the treatment room, with a knee injury keeping him out until mid-June. While Sasa Kalajdzic is also still working with the medical department to get over a serious knee injury. The Austrian, who was fairly successful at VFB Stuttgart is yet to feature this term and has suffered from three ACL injuries in the space of five years.

The big boost for Wolves heading into this one at Molineux is that star forward Matheus Cunha is finally available to play after his red card against Bournemouth in the FA Cup resulted in a five match suspension.

Tottenham injury news

Tottenham, who have one eye on their Europa League quarter-final second leg with 2022 winners Frankfurt are without 45-time Swedish international Dejan Kulusevski, who is not expected to play again until late April after sustaining an ankle injury.

He joins defender Kevin Danso on the list of absentees, with the January signing also returning at a similar time from his thigh injury.

Meanwhile, Romanian international Radu Dragusin has much further to go in his rehabilitation journey. The centre-back, who played week in week out earlier in the campaign sustained an ACL injury earlier this year and had surgery back in February. He is targeting a return by mid-December but won’t be a part of the team anytime soon.
