Predicting Wolverhampton Wanderers’ lineup at home to West Ham United in the Premier League.

Wolves return to Premier League action on Tuesday evening as they play host to West Ham United.

The Old Gold will be eager to carry over their momentum from their 2-1 victory away at Southampton before the international break. Currently nine points clear of the relegation zone, Vitor Pereira’s side can build a 12-point cushion if they win and results elsewhere go their way.

West Ham, in 16th place and with 34 points, are the closest team to Wolves in the league standings. The Hammers have failed to meet the lofty expectations set out before them and they are definitely beatable. Wolves must first overcome some obstacles, however, as they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat in the previous meeting and West Ham - just like Wanderers - have claimed seven points out of the last 12 available.

Pereira has a few selection dilemmas to consider this midweek. Jorgen Strand Larsen was held back from international duty to avoid aggravating his broken hand but should be fine to start, several players are vying to take the spot left unoccupied by the suspended Matheus Cunha, and the competition is hotting up in midfield.

Wolves predicted lineup vs West Ham

Without further ado, here’s how we reckon the Old Gold will shape up against the Hammers.

GK - Jose Sa: The goalkeeper has become the clear number one under Pereira, comfortably ahead of Sam Johnstone in the pecking order for league fixtures.

RWB - Nelson Semedo: The wing-back is such a vital player for Wolves and he has been for quite some time. Wanderers are glad to have Semedo on song.

CB - Matt Doherty: Useful in a variety of roles, Doherty’s versatility has been important to Wolves this season, especially in a back three under Pereira.

CB - Emmanuel Agbadou: Already living up to his £16 million price tag, Agbadou has really sured up Wolves defensively. He was such a big miss when he was out injured.

CB - Toti Gomes: Pereira has got great faith in Toti as the left-sided centre-back in his system. The Portuguese is getting closer to his best form.

LWB - Rayan Ait-Nouri: Enjoying a more advanced role as a wing-back, Ait-Nouri is a top threat when he gets into the final third.

CM - Andre: Sitting deepest of Wolves’ midfield players, Andre is showing signs of the potential he was signed for. He just needs to become more consistent to reach the next level.

CM - Joao Gomes: Completing a Brazilian partnership in the middle of the park, Gomes is facing lots of competition but should retain his place.

RAM - Marshall Munetsi: The Zimbabwean wasn’t quite as involved last time out as he would have hoped but he remains a great option due to his energy and physicality.

LAM - Jean-Ricner Bellegarde: A shining light recently and especially against Southampton when he notched two assists, Bellegarde has really come into his own. Matheus Cunha, meanwhile, is still suspended.

ST - Jorgen Strand Larsen: The Norwegian played with protection on a broken hand against both Everton and Southampton and will be fine to start again despite withdrawing from international duty. That was merely precautionary.
