In just a few short hours, England and The Netherlands will lock horns in the semi finals of Euro 2024. It’s going to be an anxious wait but if you’d like to take your mind off it, here are all the biggest rumours from around Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa from today.
A Wolves youngster, who is out of contract in the summer, looks poised to join an EFL club on a free transfer in the ongoing window. Meanwhile, one of Villa’s young stars is also looking to depart the club, but only in the form of a loan move.

Hide AdWolves’ Louie Moulden ‘in talks’ to join Salford City
Wolves starlet Louie Moulden is being eyed up by Salford City in the summer transfer window. After a poor showing in League Two last season, Salford are looking to make improvements to their squad - and they have identified Moulden as a key target, according to Football Insider.
Currently, Moulden is out of contract at the Molineux Stadium. Due to this, he is free to leave the club on a free transfer - he signed a one-year extension back in 2023, but it seems there is no new deal on the horizon from his parent club.
As such, a move to Salford makes sense for the 22-year-old. The Ammies need a new goalkeeper, after Alex Cairns departed the club to join Leeds United - Moulden could prove to be an excellent replacement for him if they can get a deal over the line. He is understood to be a ‘priority’ for the recruitment team at Salford.
Moulden never made a senior team appearance for Wolves in the Premier League - instead, his stint with them was characterised by loan moves. Last season, he played for both Rochdale and Northampton Town - he made 28 appearances for the Dale and 12 appearances for the Cobblers.

Hide AdAston Villa youngster Tommi O’Reilly piquing ‘interest’ of Shrewsbury Town
Shrewsbury Town are looking to strike a deal to bring Aston Villa starlet Tommi O’Reilly to the club on loan ahead of the 2023/24 League One season, according to the Shropshire Star.
O’Reilly is under contract until the summer of 2028 at Villa Park, having signed his latest extension back in January. He is highly valued by the club, but they do not feel he is ready for first-team football at this moment. As such, a loan move to Shrewsbury makes sense from all perspectives.
Last season, O’Reilly spent much of the campaign out on loan at Real Union Club. He did not make much of an impression, however - he only featured in two league games and both of his appearances saw him come off the bench. He made a single senior team appearance for Villa last season, when they took on HSK Zrinjski Mostar in their final Europa Conference League group game.
The move for O’Reilly to join the Shrews is understood to be progressing fast - it is almost a done deal, though it has yet to be made official by any of the parties involved in the agreement.
