According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is now fully ‘completed’ and his signature could be officially announced within the coming hours.

He wrote, via Twitter: “Wolves have completed Matheus Nunes deal, contracts are now signed with Sporting for €45m plus €5m add-ons, club record fee. Medical will be completed in the next hours, as expected - Matheus will sign today.”

It’s a five-year deal for Nunes who was also tracked by West Ham United and Liverpool this summer but after a lot of back and forth - Wolves’ eagerness to land his services has secured them the deal.

The fee, as stated by Romano which will be around €50million including add-ons, will make the Portuguese midfielder a record signing for the gold and black, eclipising the £36million spent on Fabio Silva back in 2020.
