Wolves predicted XI gallery vs West Ham - as Lopetegui changes formation and starts talisman
Here’s how we predict Wolverhampton Wanderers’ starting lineup to look against West Ham United in the Premier League, on Saturday afternoon.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are in an action for the fifth time in 15 days as they play host to West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Julen Lopetegui’s side will be eager to bounce back after they crashed out of the Carabao Cup on penalties on Wednesday evening.
Away at Nottingham Forest, Wolves responded well to going 1-0 down to a Willy Boly goal against his former club, as Raul Jimenez scored his third of the season to take the tie the distance. Ex-Wanderers man Morgan Gibbs-White scored his penalty for Forest and celebrated in controversial fashion, with his fingers pointed in his ears.
New signing Matheus Cunha repeated the celebration when he converted his own effort from the spot. Young midfielder Joe Hodge then stepped up and missed the decisive penalty, but instead of an immediate celebration it was more of a brawl on the field about the Gibbs-White and Cunha’s remarks.
Lopetegui will be hoping his players will use the same passion as they take on an out-of-sorts West Ham team this weekend. David Moyes is under heavy pressure at the London Stadium as the Hammers are narrowly above the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.
The clash is a huge six-pointer at the bottom end of the table as West Ham are just one point above Wolves as things stand. A win for Wanderers on Saturday would likely mean an escape from the bottom three, and it would perhaps be the nail in the coffin for Moyes as Hammers’ head coach.
We expect Lopetegui will revert back to his usual four-at-the-back formation after he switched things up with a three at Forest. With that in mind, here is our Wolves predicted starting XI vs West Ham.
