Wolves are back in Premier League action this weekend

Wolves will be looking to keep their recent momentum going with another positive result. They are back in Premier League action on Sunday. The Midlands outfit have a home clash coming up against Tottenham Hotspur.

Vitor Pereira’s side are sat in 17th place in the table as they look to avoid relegation to the Championship. They are 12 points above the drop zone so are in a comfortable position. Pablo Sarabia and Jorgen Strand Larsen got their goals last time out as they ran out 2-1 winners away at Ipswich Town.

Wolves goalkeeper and defence

Jose Sa should keep his place between the sticks for Wolves. The 32-year-old has been on the books of his current side since joining them back in 2021. Prior to his move, he spent time with both FC Porto and Olympiakos.

Emmanuel Agbadou was snapped up by Pereira in the January transfer window to boost his defensive department. The 27-year-old caught the eye in Ligue with Stade de Reims and he appears to have adapted well to life in England. He has also had spells at Monistir and Eupen in the past.

Toti Gomes and Matt Doherty are also expected to keep their places in the team. The latter returned to the club back in 2023 from Atletico Madrid. He has played 29 appearances in all competitions this season and has chipped in with two goals.

Nelson Semedo and Rayan Ait-Nouri are set to start again. They both like to get up and down the flanks. The duo have proved to be useful options going forward when called upon and are pacey players.

Wolves midfield and attack

Joao Gomes and Andre have turned out to be useful assets for Wolves. They operate in the middle of the park and Pereira has managed to get the best out of them. Gomes in particular has played 33 times altogether this term and has found the net on three occasions. At the age of 24, he has a bright future.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi are playing well at the moment. However, only one of them will be able to feature from the off against Spurs. It seems more likely that Bellegarde will get the nod for this one but don’t rule out both of them featuring at some point.

Strand Larsen joined Wolves last summer and he has since turned out to be an inspired addition. The 25-year-old, who is a Norway international, was brought in to bolster their attacking ranks. He has since scored 11 goals and will want to add to his tally against Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Matheus Cunha is set to return which will be a big boost. He has been out of action for the last four matches due to suspension but is now back available and is set to come straight back in. Pereira’s side are expected to face a battle to keep hold of him later this year amid attention from elsewhere. For the time being though, he will look to get back up to speed.
