Lopetegui drops £39m maestro as seven ‘fitness’ changes made - Wolves predicted XI v Luton Town - gallery

Here’s what we predict Wolverhampton Wanderers’ starting lineup to look like for Wednesday’s pre-season friendly against Luton Town.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are in pre-season action for the penultimate time ahead of the 2023/24 campaign as they take on Luton Town at Molineux on Wednesday evening.

Julen Lopetegui’s side will be eager to extend their unbeaten run to six matches as they return to home soil for the first time since the 1-1 draw with Everton on May 20.

Last time out, it was a 1-1 stalemate with Celtic in Dublin. Before that, Wolves won four in a row – beating Porto, Blackpool, Farense and Vitoria SC by an aggregate score of 6-1.

Now, though, a tougher challenge awaits as Wanderers take on Premier League opposition. Although newbies to the top flight, Luton certainly aren’t pushovers.

Lopetegui is likely to rotate heavily either in this fixture or the next, against Stade Rennais on Saturday. We reckon it’ll be this one, simply as it’s the furthest away from the season start.

With all of that in mind, flick through the pages to see the starting lineup we think Wolves will go for against the Hatters, as well as brief explanations for each selection.
