Wolverhampton Wanderers return to Molineux as they take on Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Wanderers head into this one in fine spirit following a comfortable 4-1 victory away at Brentford, while the Toffees have lost their last two to put an end to a positive run of form.
Sean Dyche’s side were one of the most in-form teams in the entire division but defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have halted their progress. Everton are sitting with a shallow one-point buffer to the relegation zone but are doing very well considering their 10-point deduction.
Wolves are in 11th, six places ahead, but they would be below Everton if it wasn’t for the punishment. Gary O’Neil will show plenty of respect as a result, likely putting out as strong of a lineup as possible and minimising rotation. With that in mind, here’s the XI we think will start.
1. GK: Jose Sa
Sa didn’t keep a clean sheet midweek but made some decent saves to stop more than one going in.
2. RWB: Nelson Semedo
Semedo has struggled for consistency recently, particularly defensively, but was superb in all areas at Gtech Community Stadium.
3. CB: Max Kilman
The skipper was excellent at Brentford as he led a solid back line behind the ultra-impressive midfield and attack. O’Neil will be keen to see more of the same.
4. CB: Santiago Bueno
£9 million summer signing Bueno filled in for Craig Dawson last time out and is likely to do so again. He looked a little rusty initially but grew into it.
