Gary O'Neil and Pep Guardiola are both impacted by injuries and suspensions, and so there's a lot to get through. The big talking point will be whether Matheus Nunes faces his former club after a £53m move to the league champions.

With all that in mind, here's the latest injury and team news ahead of Wolves v Man City.

Wolves team news

Jean-Ricner Bellegare is suspended after being sent off against Luton Town. Gary O'Neil had no complaints about the decision and revealed that the £12.8m sining apologised to him and his teammates.

Tommy Doyle is to miss out as he will be ineligible to face his parent club. He was not permitted to play against them when he was playing for Sheffield United when the two sides met in the FA Cup semi-final.

The 21-year-old has so far made two substitute appearances against Liverpool and Luton Town respectively, whilst he made his first start against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night. He will have to watch from the stands however as his loan and parent club go head-to-head.

In the injury department, Wolves have been okay and the only player that comes under any question is Joe Hodge. He suffered a hamstring problem against Blackpool almost a month ago but was an unused substitute at Portman Road on Tuesday night. Wolves could have been taking a cautious approach with the midfielder or preferred different personnel.

Out: Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Tommy Doyle. Doubt: Joe Hodge

Man City team news

The Citizens are without Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) following an injury against Burnley in their opening Premier League fixture. He's got a 'serious injury' and he will be out for a few months at least, but despite his absence they have been able to maintain their good form.

Bernardo Silva is a doubt for this weekend after he limped off against Red Star Belgrade. He missed the 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest, and he was expected to be out for a week or 10 days.

John Stones (hip) is a doubt after picking up an injury last month. He played in the Community Shield final, and was an unused substitute against but Sevilla but has so far missed all six of City's Premier Lague fixtures.

He was ruled out by Pep Guardiola until after the international break that has just passed but time is running with mid-October on the horizon. Stones is 'more or less there' described assistatnt Juanma Lillo and so Wolves could be an opportunity for him to return.

Man City will be without Rodri, not through injury but instead suspension after grappling Morgan Gibbs-White. He sat out of the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United and this is the second game of his ban.

Mateo Kovacic made a return to action on Wednesday night, having nursed an injury. He played 68 minutes, and whilst he is probably not a full doubt for the match, questions will be asked if has the fitness to complete a full 90 minutes following a recent knock.

Out: Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri Doubt: Bernardo Silva, and John Stones.
