With under two weeks left in the 2024 summer transfer window, time is running out for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa. What business are the two clubs looking to conduct today?

Wolves ‘submit proposal’ to Arsenal ahead of possible Aaron Ramsdale transfer
It is no secret at this point - Aaron Ramsdale is looking to make an exit from the Emirates Stadium after losing his spot as the Gunners’ number one shot stopper last season. According to a report from journalist David Ornstein [via Talking Wolves on X], Wolves have submitted a ‘proposal’ to Arsenal ahead of a potential move for the former Sheffield United goalkeeper.
In their post on X, Talking Wolves wrote: “Wolves have submitted a proposal to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal. Initial loan move with an option to buy next summer. Wolves are ready to cover the majority of the goalkeeper's wages.”
As previously reported, Arsenal would prefer a clean break with Ramsdale - which would mean moving him on permanently. However, the option to buy clause included in his contract proposal may placate them somewhat on this particular issue. Wolves aren’t the only club who have been linked with the 26 year old’s signature - Southampton are also believed to be interested.

Compare this to the 2022/23 season, where he played in every Premier League game for his side and it is night and day. It makes sense for Ramsdale to want to move on - lest he risk undergoing a period of career stagnation.
Aston Villa receive transfer boost over Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida as club looking to sell
There is positive news for Villa fans on the transfer front. One of their targets, Lutsharel Geertruida, is assessing his options at Feyenoord, despite the offer of a new contract from his current club [via AD on X]. His existing deal is due to expire at the end of the season - they do not want to lose him on a free transfer. As such, if he does not sign a new contract, he will move away from the club this summer.
They aren’t the only ones in the race - Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig have also been linked with a move for the player. Despite this, they would need to sell one of their own talents before putting an offer together, which gives Villa something of a leg up over their competition.
Last season, Geertruida made 47 appearances in all competitions for Feyenoord, scoring nine goals and racking up five assists. Can he replicate these numbers at Villa Park?
