Wolves tipped to reignite transfer bid for £9m-rated La Liga gem as scouts dispatched to U20 World Cup
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira will get the opportunity to sign some players when the January transfer window opens up for business
Wolves have endured a tough start to the new Premier League season. They drew 1-1 at home to Brighton and Hove Albion in their last outing before the international break. The Midlands outfit are bottom of the table and are inside the drop zone along with Burnley and West Ham.

Vitor Pereira’s side are back in action on Saturday 18th October as they look for their first league win of the campaign. Their upcoming opponents are newly promoted Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats went up from the Championship with Leeds United and Burnley and have adapted well to life in the top flight.
Wolves pursue Pablo Garcia transfer deal
Wolves are being tipped to rekindle their interest in £9m-rated Real Betis prospect Pablo Garcia this winter, as per a report by Spanish news outlet Ficherio. They are said to be keeping tabs on his progress in the U20 World Cup over in Chile. He is part of Spain’s squad and has been catching the eye in South America.
Pereira has the chance to bolster his ranks in the January transfer window. He could do with some more firepower in his squad. The Portuguese boss also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed to free up space and funds.
Garcia, 19, has been on the books at Real Betis for his whole career to date. He has risen up through their academy ranks and has been a regular for them at various different youth levels. The youngster is being tipped for a bright future in the game.
He broke into their B team back in 2023 and penned his first professional contract back in January. The teenager put pen-to-paper on a contract running until June 2029 with the La Liga club which suggests he is highly rated by them. He then made his senior debut in a league fixture in the same month against Real Mallorca and hasn’t looked back since, making nine appearances in all competitions and firmly establishing himself in the first-team set up at Estadio de La Cartuja.
Will Wolves make move for Pablo Garcia?
Wolves will be weighing up different targets at the moment. Time will tell whether they lodge an official bid for Garcia in a couple of months time. Pereira’s side need to ensure that they get their recruitment spot on as they look to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Garcia is someone with potential and could be a useful long-term option if they managed to lure him away from his native country to England. He would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch and something different to what they already have at their disposal.
However, he lacks experience and hasn’t played too much football so far in his career. As with any player from abroad, patience would be required whilst he adapted to life in a new country but Wolves ideally need someone to make an immediate impact as they aim to survive.
