Premier League strugglers Wolves travel to basement side Southampton in a match which promises to have huge implications on this season’s nail-biting battle to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Wolves enter the game in 17th position after a hard-fought 1-1 draw at home to Everton left them six points clear of Ipswich Town in 18th as they suffered another costly defeat on the road against Crystal Palace.

Southampton have just nine points and, barring a miracle, are destined to drop back down to the second tier of English football. However, they still have pride at stake and will be desperate to get more points on the board to avoid becoming the worst team in Premier League history after Derby County’s 11-point tally in 2007/08.
Vitor Pereira’s side have the opportunity to create a nine point cushion between themselves and the drop zone this weekend as an Ipswich side in last chance saloon make the trip to take on this season’s surprise package Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Ahead of a must-win game for Pereira and his troops we take a look at the latest Wolves injury and suspension updates as five stars miss out.

When will Matheus Cunha return from suspension?
Matheus Cunha - suspended: Brazil forward Matheus Cunha has been the team’s shining light in a difficult season with an emphatic 13 goals from 26 matches, eclipsing last season’s excellent record of 12 in 32. However, he was ruled out of the Everton game through suspension after his conduct in the FA Cup defeat to Bournemouth which saw him push his face into the head of Milos Kerkez.
Wolves have not won any league game this season when Cunha has not scored this term, leaving them needing to perform without their talismanic forward on the south coast. He is due to return for the crunch clash against Ipswich on 5 April and is set to miss games in the meantime against Southampton and West Ham. “We will see in the end if it’s important or not. I’m very happy with my team and very confident in the future." said Vitor Pereira, via the Daily Echo.
