The latest from Gary O'Neil on Wolves star Hee-Chan Hwang after an injury concern before the victory against Sheffield United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O'Neil has confirmed Hee-Chan Hwang suffered an injury scare in the warm-up before the 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

The South Korean hurt his knee during a possession drill but decided to play nonetheless, starting in the number nine role for Wolves. Hwang made some decent runs in the channels throughout and pressed the Blades' defence effectively but he didn't look anywhere near as sharp as usual.

"He stood on the ball in one of the possessions we do. He sort of rocked his knee a little bit," O'Neil confirmed in the post-match press conference. It was then assured the injury scare was quickly eradicated, with Hwang's lack of sprints in the second half instead down to general fatigue.

"He's fine now and can't feel any pain at all. It was a shock for him with a big game coming up and feeling some pain in his knee at the time. But he's absolutely fine, no problem. He's important for us with his runs in behind. I thought he tired because he didn't look as much of a threat in the second half but in the first half, he gave us a really good outlet," O'Neil continued.

Wolves fans shouldn't worry about Hwang, even if he wasn't at his best on Sunday. The 28-year-old will take time to get fully up to speed again after his involvement at the AFC Asian Cup. There's also a lot of pressure on his shoulders with Wolves lacking many other options in the striker position. The goals are bound to return soon.
