The dream Wolves £25m forward signing who would help club forget all about Matheus Cunha

Wolves finished 16th in the Premier League table this past season. Vitor Pereira was brought in as their replacement for Gary O’Neil back in December and managed to turn their campaign around. He penned a contract at Molineux until June 2026.
The Midlands outfit have the chance to bring in some new signings. They also have the opportunity to let players head out the exit door as well if needed. Matheus Cunha needs replacing following his recent exit to Manchester United.

According to Sky Sports, Wolves are eyeing a £25million move for OGC Nice attacker Evann Guessand. The 23-year-old, who is an Ivory Coast international with eight caps to his name, has caught the eye in Ligue 1 over recent times. He could be seen as someone to step into Cunha’s shoes next term.
Guessand, who was born in France, has risen up through the ranks of his current club. He has made 108 appearances in all competitions since making his first-team debut back in 2019 and he has scored 21 goals, 13 of which came in the last campaign. He has also had loan spells away at Lausanne-Sport and Nantes in the past to get some experience under his belt.
Nice could now face a battle to keep hold of him over the next couple of months with Wolves considering a swoop. He is under contract until 2028. That means they are under no pressure to sell him just yet and can wait for the right offer to come in for his services.
Would Evann Guessand suit Wolves?
Wolves must try and find someone who can score as many goals as Cunha. Guessand has proved he can find the net over in France and would be worth a punt. He is also still young and has potential to get better in the future.

Cunha’s departure is a blow for Wolves but they have plenty of time to sign someone else. His arrival at Old Trafford has gone down positively. Gary Neville has said: "Cunha’s a proper Premier League player now. He’s got the pace, the power, and he’s shown he can score andcreate in a Wolves side that doesn’t always dominate games. For United, it’s a smart move, but the question is whether the system under Amorim will let him thrive. He needs freedom to roam, not be stuck in a rigid set-up."
Meanwhile, Paul Scholes has delivered his verdict: "Matheus Cunha is obviously athletic, and he’s got quality with 15 league goals this season. I just worry for any signing coming to Man United at the minute. It just feels like it’s such a bad place to go. The club’s in a mess, and even a player like Cunha, with his energy and flair, might struggle to shine in that environment."
