The transfer window shut on Friday, August 30, but that hasn’t stopped one Wolves player from leaving.

Wolves have allowed Dexter Lembikisa to depart with it being announced that he has joined Yverdon Sport on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old will be playing in the Swiss Super League for the 2024/25 season. It's his third loan spell away from Molineux, having spent time away at Hearts, and Rotherham United. He played one game for the under-21s this season, featuring in a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League, but wasn't involved in any of their other three games.

Lembisaka was on loan at Hearts for the second part of last season, and admitted to the local media he would be open to a return to Scotland, however he will now play in Switzerland, which is regarded as the 15th best league in the world.

Yverdon find themselves in eighth place in the league standings in a division that has 12 teams. He could make his debut when Yverdon travel to Lausanne on Sunday, September 22.

The transfer was announced in a Twitter post on Tuesday morning by Yverdon Sport, which read: "YS completes its transfer window with the arrival of Dexter Lembikisa (20 years old). The full-back arrives on loan for the 24/25 season from Wolverhampton, where he was trained."

His move to Yverdon-Sport, sees him reunite with Christian Marques, who he played with at Wolves. Marques, who was born in Switzerland, was at Wolves from 2019 to 2023, and departed having made five appearances for the club.

Lembisaka spent this summer playing for Jamaica at the 2024 Copa America in the United States, and came away having featured in two of their group stage games, which now has him at ten caps. Despite his lack of game time this season, he was called up for Steve Steve McClaren's first squad.

To date, he has four first-team appearances for Wolves. His last appearance came as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup in January 2023. Lembisaka's last involvement with the first team was as an unused substitute in a Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest in November 2023.
