Wolves could bring in Rob Edwards to assist Steve Davis. The Midlands outfit have decided to stick with the latter until 2023 after his first couple of matches in caretaker charge.

Edwards, 39, was sacked by Watford in late September after just 11 games at the helm. The Sun are reporting that he could potentially move to the Premier League now as a coach.

He has been linked with a few clubs since his departure from Vicarage Road. Vacancies at West Brom, Hull City and Middlesbrough have all arisen in the Championship over recent times but his destination may now be the top flight.

Knows Wolves

Edwards knows Wolves inside out having both played and coached there. He made 111 appearances for the club from 2004 to 2008 in all competitions and also had spells at Blackpool and Barnsley before retiring.

The former defender hung up his boots in 2013 and subsequently started his coaching career at Molinuex with the youth teams. He then left and has since embarked on spells at AFC Telford United, England U16s and Forest Green Rovers.

He won the League Two title with the latter last term to help him land the Watford job. However, his spell in Hertfordshire didn’t work out and he won just three times with the Hornets.

Edwards is now being linked with a return to Wolves alongside Davis. They are currently 18th in the league table and are back in action this weekend against Leicester City at home.
