Wolves and Aston Villa have registered their ‘interest’ in £25m-rated Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to TEAMtalk. He spent the last campaign on loan in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg under the guidance of Liam Rosenior. He is a man in-demand right now with Leeds United, Brentford, Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus and Fiorentina also mentioned as potential suitors.
Petrovic, 25, was given the green light to spend last term in France to get some experience under his belt. He went on to become a key player for Rosenior’s side as they managed to get into Europe. The Serbia international, who has made seven caps so far, went on to play 31 games in all competitions.
He is due to return to Stamford Bridge for pre-season but the Blues have a decision to make on what to do with him next. Wolves could see him as someone to compete with Jose Sa for their number one spot. Meanwhile, Aston Villa may need to start thinking about long-term replacements for Emi Martinez.
Who is Wolves and Aston Villa target Djordje Petrovic?
Petrovic started his career in Serbia at Cukaricki. He rose up through their academy ranks and was a regular at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team. The stopper went on to play 86 matches as a youngster.

Playing in the Premier League is something I’m really looking forward to doing and I hope to learn many things here at Chelsea. I can’t wait to meet everyone and play at Stamford Bridge.”
Meanwhile, co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart added: ‘We are very pleased to welcome Djordje to the club. His performances in MLS have earned deserved praise and recognition – and have prepared him for the challenge of playing for Chelsea. Djordje improves an already strong goalkeeping team.
