Both teams went full strength in what would be the final warm-up game for the two prior to their respective season’s starting and Santos claims that Bruno Lage’s side provided a task similiar to many they will face in Liga Portugal.

“We have positive feelings after a game against a strong team,” he told Sporting TV.

“We are going to encounter teams like them this season and we are confident ahead of the first game, next weekend, against SC Braga. We want to start the season winning, which is our objective and the objective of Sporting CP.”

“We have to look at the opponents, but we have our way of playing and we always go in to win,” he added.

“Our preseason was positive, with games against very strong teams. We showed our quality, as we will do in the league.”
