Wolves manager Gary O'Neil hopes to have striker Hwang Hee-chan back for Saturday's meeting with Everton after the star was subbed at half-time against Brentford.

The South Korean international was on target twice in the first half at the Gtech Community Stadium as he helped Wolves on their way to a 4-1 victory over the Bees. Hwang latched on to mistakes from defender Nathan Collins to slot past Mark Flekken in the Brentford net and took his Premier League goal tally to 10 for the campaign.

However, the night ended prematurely for the talisman, who hobbled off the pitch with an arm around the physio on the stroke of half-time. One of the first questions O'Neil was asked after the game was regarding his star man's fitness.

He said: "Back spasm. He'll be fine for the Asia Cup, hopefully, we can get him back for our game as well against Everton. It's a tight turnaround but only a back spasm and he is moving slightly better now than when he came off, so let's see how he does these next couple days.

"10 goals for him now, so unbelievable return but I do have big faith in everybody if we have to play somebody else, some of the under 23s or under 21s. It's no problem, I have faith in all of them."

Hwang was replaced by Jeanricner Bellegarde before half-time, with the substitute also going on to benefit from a Collins error in the second half. Mario Lemina was the other Wolves star to find himself on the scoresheet, opening the scoring with a free header after just 13 minutes.

Wolves are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Everton to Molineux in a 3 pm kick off. O'Neil's side then return to the Gtech in early January for another meeting with Brentford in the FA Cup on January 5.
