‘We have a good relationship, that’s for sure’ - Bruno Lage on Magpies boss Steve Bruce

Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United on Saturday in the final game for the two before the international break.
Considering Lage has spent the majority of his career in his homeland of Portugal - Bruce is the last person you’d expect him to have history with. But that they do.

He may not be the most popular man in the north east, but Lage spoke very highly of him and revealed they even met quite recently to discuss their past clashes.

“He’s an experienced manager,” he said.
“(I’ve faced him) too many times, too many times.
“I remember him when I was a kid. He was a big name from English football when he played for Manchester United and then when I was with Carlos [Carvalhal], we played against him a lot of times when he was at Hull.
“I don’t forget the final we played against them (Sheffield Wednesday v Hull City) when we play in, I think 2015.

“And also, we have a good talk because he was also in Sheffield Wednesday.
