Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva was the standout performer for Portugal u21s as they hammered Liechtenstein 9-0 on Tuesday evening.

It rounded off a near flawless Euro 2023 qualifying campaign for the u21s who won eight out of nine of their games, scoring 39 goals and conceding just two in the process!

Silva, 19, scored three and assisted another in the latest rout on Tuesday and showed exactly why he was so highly rated prior to his move to Molineux back in 2020.

The teenager has struggled to find any sort of form or consistency since his arrival in the Black Country and has left patience wearing thin among some.

He’s scored just four goals in 62 appearances since his move from Porto though it has to be said that a huge chunk of those have been short cameos from the bench.

Silva’s contract at Molineux doesn’t expire until the summer of 2025 so there’s time yet - but fans will be hoping to see displays like the one he put on for his country in the gold and black sooner rather than later.
