Wolves advancing with talks to sign £2.6m Championship starlet
Gary O’Neil’s side have begun negotiations to sign Luca Koleosho, a 19-year-old winger who impressed in the Premier League last season despite Burnley’s relegation.
Our sister publication, Express & Star, reported yesterday that talks were in the early stages, but Wolves want to land Koleosho before the end of the summer transfer window. The Old Gold are still in conversation with the Championship club.

Hide AdThe Italy Under-21 international, who cost £2.6 million from Espanyol in 2023, was absent from Burnley’s squad to face Sunderland on Saturday, though the Clarets revealed he was still in attendance and only missed out due to a slight knock.
Already a goalscorer in the Championship this campaign, Koleosho has been a bright spark for Burnley during a tough period. The teenager’s pace, ball control and agility make him a tricky opponent for any defender.
It’s understood Wolves are keen to add a new winger to their ranks following the £52 million departure of Pedro Neto to Chelsea earlier this summer. The budget is limited to around £20 million - and that also needs to be shared across other positions.
Wolves still looking for new defender
Wanderers are yet to replace Maximilian Kilman in defence after he left for West Ham United in a £40 million deal. Yerson Mosquera has impressed over the past few weeks but the depth isn’t quite there and O’Neil wants to address that issue.
