Premier League transfer updates as a striker’s agent arrives in London amid interest from Wolves, Everton and West Ham.

Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer target Viktor Gyökeres is closing in on a big-money move away from Coventry City, according to a reputable report.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion man has been a sensation in the Championship and he helped the Sky Blues reach the play-off final last season.

Now 25 years of age, Gyökeres scored 17 goals in 45 games during the 2021/22 campaign and then 21 goals in 46 matches last term.

His scintillating form has earned him interest from Premier League clubs Wolves, Everton, Fulham, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

Transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the player’s agent has now arrived in London in order to seal a deal soon – but it’s not to a Premier League side.

The report states Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon are trying to “get it sealed after tense discussions”, though Coventry are said to be asking for a huge fee.

Brighton will receive a 10% sell-on clause from any deal, meaning the Sky Blues will understandably ask for a higher figure to compensate for that.

It’s not a done deal just yet but it’s getting there, so Wolves and their divisional rivals will need to step up quickly if Gyökeres is to make a move back to the Premier League.
