Wolves ‘enter’ race for £15m Everton target amid West Ham 'waiting game’ claim

The latest Premier League transfer news as Wolves and Everton battle as West Ham wait before a sale.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly reignited their interest in Southampton star Che Adams, joining Everton in the race to sign the former Birmingham City man. The Old Gold have been linked with Adams consistently throughout recent transfer windows and have now been tipped to finally bring an end to the saga this month.

Now 27 years of age, Adams is in his prime years and remains a consistent starter for Southampton as they look to return to the Premier League, following last season's relegation. Six goals and two assists have been notched in 22 Championship appearances so far this campaign, while he scored five times in the top tier last term.

Sky Sports reports three Premier League clubs are eager to sign Adams this January, whereas Football Insider claims Wolves are one of them. Meanwhile, Everton, who made a £15 million approach for the striker in the summer, are said to be rearing their heads once again as Sean Dyche looks to add to his forward line.

This window provides Southampton one final opportunity to cash in as Adams' contract expires on June 30 of this year. It's likely Wolves, Everton or any other potential suitors could get their man for a cut price given the circumstances.

Latest on Danny Ings to Wolves

It's become clear Gary O'Neil wants another striker as Adams isn't the only name linked. Former Liverpool and Southampton ace Danny Ings is another touted for a move to Molineux, with a loan move spoken about. The Evening Standard reports, however, that the deal won't progress just yet - with a waiting game in play.

The Hammers are said to be keen on signing a replacement before they let Ings go, even temporarily. This is due to the recent injuries sustained by fellow attackers Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen. Ings, 31, has scored 70 goals in 215 Premier League appearances for five different clubs throughout his career.
