Wolves could repeat Pedro Neto transfer trick as £5m bid 'being prepared'

Premier League transfer news latest as Wolves ready an approach for an exciting Portuguese forward.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly preparing a summer move for versatile Portuguese winger Rodrigo Gomes, who has impressed in Liga Portugal this season.

The Old Gold are keen to add to their attacking ranks, bolstering the front line with the future in mind. Gomes, who has scored four goals and contributed six assists in 21 league appearances this season, is at the forefront of these plans.

Our sister publication Express & Star reports nothing is agreed upon as of yet but a summer swoop is on the cards. Currently on loan at Estoril Praia, Gomes is contracted permanently to Braga, where current Wanderers star Pedro Neto broke through.

Gomes has been a Portugal youth international since November 2018, moving consecutively up from the under-16 level to the under-21 squad. The 20-year-old, who turns 21 in July, has scored three goals in three games for the under-21 side.

Capable of playing on either of the attacking flanks or even in both full-back positions, Gomes would bring some useful versatility to Gary O'Neil's squad. Although not one to make an instant impact, it's thought Gomes could eventually flourish in England and he's a long-standing target.

The youngster's current market value is around £5 million, with his Braga contract running until June 2026. If his impressive form continues for much longer, however, Gomes' stock could rise higher still. BirminghamWorld will keep you up to date with any updates.
