Wolves transfer twist as '11th-hour request' emerges amid 'done deal' claim

Wolverhampton Wanderers have pulled the plug on an attempt to sign Brazil international striker Yuri Alberto due to financial complications, including last-ditch demands from the player's agents.
An agreement was in place for the 22-year-old to complete a six-month loan transfer with an option to buy in the summer, but the deal has now broken down. Alberto, who has one senior Brazil appearance to his name, scored eight goals and notched four assists in 34 Série A appearances for Corinthians last season.

Wanderers are still trying to bring in a new forward but, as Deadline Day always proves, it could be very tricky. It awaits to be seen whether another move for Armando Broja after Chelsea rejected a loan offer with a £25 million obligation to buy.
